Wednesday again!!!

The week has gone by very quickly.  I have now got three pieces of my work into my etsy shop, just hoping for a better day today so that I can retake the other photos!!!!

This week I have been crocheting a baby blanket as I bought some lovely merino wool which is in a raspberry pink.  Making baby blankets is something that I havent done for a very long time, so its a bit of a distraction for me.

Today I am going to make a start on the wedding ring cushion and am thinking of making quite a few different designs as my hearts have been featured in a wedding blog!!!  Thats the third time that someone who is involved with weddings has shown interest in my work.

I have also started reading the book just released by Kate McCann on her daughter Madeline who went missing whilst on holiday in Portugal.  I know there has been much publicity and indeed much negativity about the launch of the book, but for me, there is still a little girl out there who is missing and there needs to be some answers as to where she is.  So if my £9.99 to purchase the book helps in any way to keep this little girl in the spotlight and hopefully to help toward finding her then its money well spent for me.

Let me know what you have all been doing this week.

Photo's

Hi all
Well yesterday I spent my time finising off lots of my work to go onto my etsy shop in the land of the www!!!
I was so pleased that it wasn't raining outside so I could take my photos as I've found them to be better taken outside.
Today I load them all up and what, I've only gone and deleted them all!!
Not pleased, not pleased at all, so tomorrow I'll try again!!!
Anyone else having problems with their photo's or is it just me - lol

Happy Wednesday to you all

This week I've been busy making a couple more scarves for my etsy shop.  Hopefully I'll be able to get all my items into the shop for the weekend.

I've been buying some lovely glass beads and pearls to make some items for Graeme and Christina's forthcoming wedding.  Now I've got them sorted out into their own boxes I'm wanting to start making the favors and the ring cushion NOW!!!

I just have to keep telling myself that I need to finish off all my other work first!!!

Oh and I'm also now thinking about starting to prepare for Christmas - OK I know its early for a lot of you, but it takes time to make items for my shop and I want to have at least 75 items if not more in there before the season begins!!!  You may even get a preview of a Christmas tree in July!!!

Work in progress whilst in Oz!!!

This lovely orange mix is made of 70% bamboo and 30% cotton
Its going to be a scarf in a bag when its finished
The lovely lilac mixes again is going to be another scarf in a bag

These green hearts are in a moss green
I was inspired to make these designs having seen Christina wearing some gorgeous wooden earings

I have never used charcoal grey before but I think they are looking good
These black hearts are going to be made into slightly larger hearts and I have yet to decide what other colour to use them with

I just could'nt resist making more items for my shop whilst we were visiting Oz.  We came across a lovely craft shop selling some unusual fabrics which I couldn't resist.

Hope you like my items in the making.  They will all be available to buy from my shop

Back in the UK at last!!!

Well we have finally got back home to the UK.
Having left Oz we flew to Singapore where it was supposed to be a quick turnround !!!
Having got on the plane we went to the runway to be told that the plane had to go back as the airport was about to close for one hour, so we had to wait, then there was a problem with the plane.
We finally arrived in Dubai to find out that we had missed our connection and we would have to stay overnight - now Dubai is somewhere that I would love to visit, but by the time we arrived at the hotel we were so tired we fell asleep and woke up about 3.00a.m.!!!
But hey thats the joy of travelling.
Now back home and ready for bed again!!!!

Straddie Island

Mia on her first trip to Straddie Island

Going to camp

Setting up camp

View from car

                                                                          Paradise

                                                              Our fish and chips view

Fish and chip view could never be better!!

Graeme fishing at Amity Bay

The ferry to the island was wonderful a very calm crossing altogether.  We were hoping to see some dolphins but it didnt happen.  Before we went onto the beach to camp they guys had to let down the tyres of the 4x4's then off we went.  This is the first time I have ever been on the beach in a vehicle.

My first words were 'this is paradise' the colours of the sea, the vast amount of beach simply magical.

Alfie totally enjoyed his time in the sea, Mia wasn't too keen as she really is not a water dog.

We had a tour of the island and had fish and chips overlooking a lovely bay.  Fish and chips have never tasted as good!!

What a lovely island and I can't wait to visit it again in the future.
